Tarasiki is an asylum for psycho-neurological adults. There are 300 residents,
150 men and 150
women. It is in the forest and began life as a WWII prisoner of war camp.
We have provided burn dressings and treatments here because in the winter
residents put their
hands and feet on the heating pipes and also sit on them to get warm.
Some residents have
received burns from doing this.
We have also provided a lot of winter medicines, vitamins and medical
aid here, along with warm
clothing, shoes and slippers. Your financial donations have enabled us
to do this. Thank you.
