Welcome To The Belarus Fund

The Belarus Fund was set up by three friends, Alan and Janet Bridgewater and Carol Hartley, after first visiting the country in 2002 to work on a summer camp for young people affected by the Chernobyl radiation. We have been returning ever since.

The Belarus Fund was formalised in 2006 and gained charity status in November that year. This is a small charity and is working with babies to Babushkas and Dedushkas (Grandparents to you and I).
100% of all donations raised go into projects, there are no administration charges or salaries paid.

In 2006 we began to support a number of projects in the
Minsk-Borisov areas involving children, the sick, the elderly and
the mentally ill. We have visited each of the projects, found out what would help most and put this into practice where possible.
We provided replacemet probes for an ultrasound machine at the TB Sanatorium in Minsk. We also support individuals and their families e.g. a child with PKU who requires special food and a paralysed child. We have funded recuperative camps for isolated older people and food parcels for those living on low incomes. We have built a number of contacts in Belarus who have become our friends.
